Your Baseline: The 10-Domain Self-Assessment
You can't tell if you're getting stronger if you never measured where you started. People do this all the time — they work on themselves for months and have no idea if anything changed, because they never took a reading at the beginning. We're going to fix that right now. In the next twelve minutes you're going to get an honest measurement of where you stand, and it becomes the single most important piece of paper in this whole course.

Hook
You can't tell if you're getting stronger if you never measured where you started. People do this all the time — they work on themselves for months and have no idea if anything changed, because they never took a reading at the beginning. We're going to fix that right now. In the next twelve minutes you're going to get an honest measurement of where you stand, and it becomes the single most important piece of paper in this whole course.
Why baseline matters
Here's why this matters so much. In six weeks, in module six, you're going to take this exact same assessment again. And the gap between today's number and that one — that's your proof. Not my promise to you. Not a testimonial from somebody else. Your own evidence, in your own handwriting. So be honest right now, because you're only fooling yourself if you inflate it. And listen — low scores today are good news. A low number isn't a verdict on you; it's the room you have to grow. The lower it is now, the more change you get to watch happen.
Walk the domains
So here's how it works. I'm going to walk you through ten domains. For each one, you score yourself from one to five. One means "this wall is barely there for me" — five means "this is solid, I've got this." Don't agonize over each number. Your first honest gut answer is more accurate than the one you talk yourself into. Pull out the assessment worksheet — it's attached to this lesson — and let's go through them together so you know exactly what each one is asking.
The ten, explained
One: I can find the gap between a trigger and my reaction. Two: I can stay present instead of spiraling into the story in my head. Three: I can get through a crisis without making it worse. Four: I can tolerate distress I can't immediately fix. Five: I can name what I'm feeling, precisely. Six: I can let an emotion crest and fall without feeding it. Seven: I can ask for what I need without it turning into a fight. Eight: I can keep a relationship and my self-respect at the same time in a conflict. Nine: I have a daily practice that keeps me steady. Ten: I believe I can build these skills — that I'm not stuck where I am. Score each one, one to five, right now.
Score and date
Now add them all up. You've got a number out of fifty. Write it at the top of the page. And — this is the part people skip and then regret — write today's date next to it. That dated number is your baseline. Take a photo of it, save the PDF, do whatever you need to do so that in six weeks you can put your hands on this exact sheet. Module six literally depends on it. If you lose this, you lose your proof.
Read your shape
One more thing before you go. Look at your two lowest domains — the ones where you wrote a one or a two. Those map directly onto specific walls coming up in the course. That's not bad news. That's your map. You're not starting from zero and you're not starting from nowhere — you're starting from a known shape, and now we know exactly where to build first. Most people have never looked at themselves this precisely. You just did.
Close
That's your foundation. You know the three lies, you know the four walls, and now you know exactly where you stand across all of them. That's everything you need to start building. In module one we put up the first wall — Mindfulness — and we start training the gap between what happens to you and what you do about it. I'll see you there.
