Your free module is inside 👇

Welcome. Your free module — The Three Lies About Resilience — is ready, along with the 10-domain self-assessment that gives you your baseline. Do the assessment before anything else; it's the one thing the whole course measures against.

One idea before you start: you are not broken. You are undertrained. Broken means something's wrong that has to be fixed. Undertrained means there are skills you were never taught — and skills can be built.

Day 2Subject: Nurture 1 · The Aikido idea
Lakeside Behavioral HealthTHE RESILIENCE ROOM

Stop meeting force with force

Twenty years as a cop taught me something that became the spine of my whole approach: you don't out-muscle the hardest moments. In Aikido, you never meet force with force — you blend, redirect, and let it pass.

That's the posture of resilience. You will not win a head-on fight with your worst emotions. You'll learn to move with them so they don't take you down. Every wall in the course is built on it.

Day 4Subject: Nurture 2 · Why willpower fails
Lakeside Behavioral HealthTHE RESILIENCE ROOM

Why 'just try harder' hasn't worked

If trying harder worked, you'd already be fine. Willpower fails in a real spike because the spike is partly chemical — your thinking brain goes offline exactly when you need it.

That's why the course trains skills that work on the body and attention directly: TIPP, ACCEPTS, the 90-second wave. Not slogans. Reps. You don't rise to the occasion — you fall to your level of training.

Day 6Subject: Nurture 3 · Marcus
Lakeside Behavioral HealthTHE RESILIENCE ROOM

The man who thought he was broken

Marcus sat silent in my group for three weeks, certain he was broken. He didn't get handed a new life. He built four walls, one rep at a time, through the lag, missing days and getting back up.

Months later he said the thing I'll never forget: 'The room was already in me. I just didn't know how to walk into it.' The course is how you learn to walk into yours.
